Health First Welcomes Dana S. Kilborne and T. Kent Smith to the Board of Trustees
ROCKLEDGE, Fla. (November 15, 2017) — Health First is pleased to announce Dana S. Kilborne and T. Kent Smith have joined the Health First Board of Trustees.
Dana S. Kilborne serves as Co-President and Chief Commercial Officer of Sunshine Bank, and additionally serves as a Director of the bank and holding company, Sunshine Bancorp. Kilborne is a member of the Board of Directors for the Jacksonville branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. She is also a Director of NCMIC Insurance Company, based in Des Moines, Iowa.
Kilborne previously served as founding President and Chief Executive Officer of Florida Bank of Commerce and FBC Bancorp, Inc. Her 30-year banking career includes executive roles from Central to South Florida.
Kilborne also serves as a board member for a number of community organizations, including Chair-Elect of Economic Development Commission of the Space Coast; Immediate Past Chair of Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy; Director of East Coast Zoological Society of Florida; Florida Bankers’ Association; and Florida Hospital’s Cardiovascular Institute Foundation. She served as Chair of the 2014 Florida Bankers’ Association Annual Convention, Chair of the Economic Development Commission Ad Valorem Tax Abatement Council and as a member of the Brevard County Blue Ribbon Transportation Committee. She received her bachelor’s degree in finance from Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y., and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking in Philadelphia. She also received the Orlando Business Journal Women Who Mean Business award in 2014.
She and her husband, Briggs, have three children and live on Merritt Island.
T. Kent Smith serves as the Director and a Board Member of Revolution Technologies, a nationwide IT services firm with middle market to Fortune 1000 clients. He previously served as the company’s President and Chief Operating Officer for 10 years.
He previously served as President and CEO of TeamStaff, Inc., a public mid-cap company focused in the healthcare staffing industry. Smith joined TeamStaff in 2003 and was assigned to turn around and eventually sell what was then a $170 million business services outsourcer.
Prior to joining TeamStaff, Smith served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the HoneyBaked Ham Company and the Heavenly Ham Company from 1998 to 2003.
Smith’s previous staffing experience includes 11 years at the Norrell Corporation, a $1.4 billion commercial staffing firm, where he served as a member of the senior executive team. Throughout his career at Norrell, he has held a variety of roles, including Franchise Sales and Director of Finance, Franchise Division; Vice President of Finance & Strategic Planning; Vice President of Service Operations; Chief Information Officer; and Senior Vice President of Service Operations for the 350 and 450 client sites. Smith founded Norrell Financial Staffing, while also authoring the IT staffing roll-up totaling $400 million.
Smith earned his bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., and his MBA from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. He is currently on the Florida Institute of Technology College of Business Advisory Board, and previously sat on the Advisory Board of the University of Virginia School of Nursing and was an Executive in Residence for Finance at the Georgia State University College of Business in Atlanta. He was also appointed to the Hampden-Sydney College Parents Council and the Substance Education Task Force by the college’s president, Christopher B. Howard.
