Jeanphis Laguerre, MD


A hospitalist is a provider who specializes in caring for patients while they are in the hospital. Hospitalists work closely with your primary care provider and frequently inform him or her of your condition.

When you require hospitalization, your provider or an Emergency Department physician will coordinate your admission with a hospitalist. The hospitalists are on site 24 hours a day and work closely with all hospital staff to coordinate your care.

Jeanphis Laguerre, MD is part of our Health First hospitalist team and board certified in Internal Medicine. Before arriving at Health First, Dr. Laguerre was on the staff of Orlando Health’s Doctor Phillips Hospital in Orlando, FL and prior to that worked in hospitals and private practice in the state of Georgia. He has experience teaching chemistry and general science in New York City public schools.

Dr. Laguerre completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, NY and graduated from medical school from Universidad Iberoamericana Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Premedical Sciences from City College of City University of New York.

Dr. Laguerre is fluent in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole and French.
